Dr. Dan Brokke serves as the Executive Director and brings over 40 years of Christian education experience to the position. He has and Ed.D in Educational Administration, has taught on the elementary, secondary, and college levels, and has administered Christian schools for over 30 years. For the past 15 years, Dr. Brokke has served on the Accreditation Committee of the American Association of Christian Schools.
Dr. Keith Wiebe serves as the President of the WVCEA. He is a graduate of a member school and serves as the senior pastor of Grace Gospel Church in Huntington WV. He has been involved in Christian education for over 30 years and is actively involved in American Association of Christian Schools as well as a regular speaker at AACS Leadership Conferences across the country.
Dr. Brokke’s daughter-in-law serves as the Office Manager for WVCEA. She has a Master’s Degree in elementary education and served for several years as the office manager in a Christian school.
Mrs. Kathy Shaffer serves as an Educational Consultant with over 30 years of Christian education experience. She has an MA, Special Education; Reading Specialist; and is a Wilson Dyslexic Practitioner. She has taught on the elementary and college levels, and served as an Elementary Principal for over 25 years. Kathy coordinates CEU opportunities for certification through the educator’s convention, coaches schools through title funding opportunities, and assists in accreditation coaching for member schools.
Mrs. Kim Wiebe oversees and facilitates the Bible, Academic, and Fine Arts competitions each spring. Kim is the chairperson for the National Piano Guild for WV and co-chair in District 5, West Virginia Music Teacher’s Association. She realizes the importance of the arts for a Christian and is excited to facilitate this program to help young people develop their talents for the Lord.
Mr. Mark Fizer brings a unique blend of educational and legal expertise to member schools. A graduate and former teacher at WVCEA school, Mark earned his Juris Doctor from Liberty University School of Law and now serves on Liberty’s law faculty. His deep understanding of Christian education and legal matters makes him a trusted advisor for school leaders and navigating today’s challenges.
Mr. Mike Wilson has a rich educational, governmental, and experiential background that he brings to his role with WVCEA. Mike monitors legislation in Charleston and works to preserve freedoms for our Christian schools, churches, and families.
Mr. Rex Eagon volunteers his time to help the association and member schools with strategic planning. Rex facilitates revenue-making partnerships for the association and our member schools. His software company developed Hisgoodnews.tv, which is offered exclusively to member schools to provide revenue while promoting their ministry to their families and community.
Mrs. Janelle Daniels serves as the WVCEA Director of Athletics. She brings experience as both an educator and a multi-season volleyball coach within our conference. A graduate of a member school with strong relationships across our league, her understanding of our athletic culture and excellent organizational skills make her the ideal leader for this role.
Mark Boyd is a CPA and serves as the WVCEA accountant. He is a graduate of a member school and has served for over 19 years as the CFO for Cross Lanes Christian School. He is very familiar with every aspect of school finances as well as Hope Scholarship procedures. Mark is available to assist member schools in these areas.
